Student Success Team

Aligned with the “Forge Your Own Path” strategy, Student Success in the Office of the Provost is a suite of initiatives and programs aimed at fostering collaborative and holistic advising, mentoring and student success practices in order to prepare our students for lives of impact through educational experiences tailored to their specific goals and needs. (Read more about the components of the Forge Your Own Path strategy.)

The Student Success team’s effort is prioritized into three workstreams, with much cross-institutional collaboration:

Advising and Mentoring

The Office of the Provost provides professional development and training opportunities for mentors and advisors across the University of Pittsburgh and at our regional campuses. We also lead efforts in collaborating with mentors, advisors, and administrators to discuss best practices and share information.

Student Success Resources

The Office of the Provost leads institutional collaborative efforts in student success to bring insights and best practices captured from researchers, faculty, advisors, and students in order to build a campus where every student can feel they belong.

Student Support Programs

The Office of the Provost administers programs to support exceptional students who are at-promise, helping them forge their own path and achieve their dreams. We also serve as a hub of innovation to collaborate with, inspire, and scale student success and support at Pitt.
