Student Success
Provost’s Student Success Research/Practitioner Collaborative
In August 2019, Pitt established a research/practitioner advisory group to ensure that (1) our new student-success initiatives and programs are informed by the latest research and (2) Pitt researchers are aware of the University’s initiatives and programs and can study their effects. Creating a community in which our research is translated into practice—and our practices are studied and learned from—will lead to increases in our public profile, in research publications, and in grant funding.

Goals
- Serve as a sounding board where practitioners/administrators/instructors present ideas for new interventions/programs
- Develop best practices for research projects involving Pitt students
- Inform the design of research projects
- Catalyze research-practice partnerships between Pitt researchers and practitioners
Subcommittees and Initial Projects
We believe this Collaborative will provide a research-informed, systematic and centralized process for the development and evaluation of important Pitt-specific intervention projects. To begin, the Collaborative will be asked to inform the work of these projects.
